Alabama Media Group Wins Five INMA Awards

Birmingham-based Alabama Media Group was awarded five international prizes at the Global Media Awards produced by The International News Media Association (INMA) in New York’s Times Square on May 17. The awards are designed to highlight news organization’s energizing news brands, creating products, engaging audiences, developing customer insights, growing advertising revenue, and instilling innovation.

Alabama Media Group was recognized for:

  • Best in North America, Regional/Local Brands: Alabama Media Group for “Chasing Corruption
  • Best Use of Video, Regional / Local Brand, “Chasing Corruption
  • Third Place, Best Use of Social Media, Regional/Local Brands, “It’s a Southern Thing
  • Third Place, Best New Concept or Innovation to Create New Profit Centers, Regional/Local Brands, “Red Clay Media
  • Honorable Mention, Best Execution of Native Advertising, Regional/Local Brands, It’s a Southern Thing’s “When Couples Go On Vacation

Finalists were selected from amongst 664 entries from 165 news media companies in 34 countries. Participants included newspaper media, magazine media, digital media, television media, and radio media. The International News Media Association (INMA) is a membership organization comprised of leaders from the world’s leading media companies.
